As I'm moving to Berlin to study, I decided that student accommodation would be a better option for me. I knew that by doing this rather than finding a place on my own, I would have more chance of making friends and connecting with others at my uni.
This accomadtion was close to the campus and the website that I used to find a place was recommended by the university on their website. The rent was listed at approximately $998, including bills and wifi, so this was perfect. At this point, I had no idea exactly how much I would get from my maintenance loan so I chose to do a six month rental agreement so I could plan my budget and change if I needed to after the first simetster. However, one problem I encountered was sending money for the deposit. Sending money to Europe is complicated because the transaction process requires a lot of information.
The accommodation offered only studio apartments but they had a kitchenette built in and a personal bathroom per room. The studios were very cool in their designs and it looked perfect for what I was looking for while I was studying.
